Australian Government Volunteer Programs

Each year we seek approval through Australian government funded volunteer programs for 1-2 volunteer placements. The positions are through the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development   (AYAD) program, Australian Volunteers International (AVI) or Volunteers in International Development Australia (VIDA). Positions with SoL will be advertised online on the SoL website, and on the AVI, AYAD or VIDA websites respectively.

Past Volunteers

SALLY BOLTON juts finished a twelve month AYAD assignment in March 2010 as our Communications Officer. She developed this great web page and did a fantastic job developing our communications strategy. 
Beck Andersen
REBECCA ANDERSEN worked as a volunteer with us, based a tthe National University of East Timor. More recently she also worked as our Climate Change Advisor, working on a long-term analysis of climate data.


Rowan Clarke
ROWAN CLARKE finished an AVI assignment at the MAF Loes Research Station in February 2010. He assisted MAF in the development of the research station, including management of the design, construction of buildings, development of appropriate water and power supply and the development of a farm layout and plan.


Summer Research Placement
